As I've often said, I use scholars for spare parts. Scholars can be useful for some things, but useless for others. For instance, he's also written a thick book defending the historical Jesus. The fact that he's wrong on egalitarianism doesn't mean he's wrong on the historical Jesus. Likewise, should I dismiss MacArthur in toto because I disagree with his pretribulationism? It's a non sequitur.
Interesting to read that Keener's wife is not a charismatic.
And it would be interesting to know her reasons.
What's more interesting is that they remain married. If they could do it, why not MacArthur, or any other cessationist, with charismatics?
Wives don't have to have reasons. It's in the handbook. Small print.
